Media Release: Picard Angst AG acquires Commodity Business from Independent Capital Group AG
Independent Capital Group AG announces a strategic realignment: the company is transferring its asset management business in the commodities sector, including its Luxembourg- and Liechtenstein-based funds, to Picard Angst AG. With this step, Independent Capital Group is streamlining its operations and will now focus fully on its core competencies as a dedicated multi-family office.
As part of the transaction, two of Independent Capital Group’s longstanding and highly respected experts, Pablo Gonzalez and Dietrich Joos, will join Picard Angst. Mr. Gonzalez, the lead portfolio manager of the commodities funds, will continue managing the strategies under the new sponsor. Mr. Joos, formerly Managing Partner Asset Management and a member of our Board of Directors, will contribute his expertise to the newly established Commodities Advisory Board at Picard Angst.
This strategic transition secures continuity in portfolio leadership and investment philosophy, safeguards the quality and integrity of the existing strategies, and creates a robust foundation for future growth. At the same time, it enables Picard Angst to further advance its position as a leading provider of specialised investment solutions in the commodities and natural resources space. The transaction has been made with full alignment and mutual understanding between both firms and remains subject to regulatory approval.
Moving forward, Independent Capital Group will focus exclusively on serving high-net-worth individuals and families from its Zurich base. The firm continues to provide tailored, independent multi-family office services – including asset management, family governance, and coordination of fiduciary relationships – all with the highest level of discretion and personalized service.
